Traditions Firearms manufactures some of the most innovative modern black powder guns made today. The Pursuit LT and Pursuit Pro blackpowder guns have proven hugely popular due to their excellant performance, ease of use, and reasonable price.

All muzzleloading Traditions guns are drilled and tapped for mounting a rifle scope. Although they already come with a good set of fiber optic sights, a rifle scope allows a hunter to take advantage of the Traditions guns long range potential. Rifle scope equipped muzzleloading Traditions guns are capable of taking deer and other big game cleanly at 200 yards.

Traditions Guns also imports some very fine shotguns and classic rifles chambered for modern cartridges. Included are both side by side and over/under shotguns manufactured in Italy by Fausti Stefano S.R.L. Traditions guns classic rifles include 1874 Sharps and rolling block models by Davide Pedersoli also in Italy.

Negroes and the Gun: The Black Tradition of ArmsNegroes and the Gun: The Black Tradition of Arms

Chronicling the underappreciated black tradition of bearing arms for self-defense, this book presents an array of examples reaching back to the pre—Civil War era that demonstrate a willingness of African American men and women to use firearms when necessary to defend their families and communities. From Frederick Douglass’s advice to keep “a good revolver” handy as defense against slave catchers to the armed self-protection of Monroe, North Carolina, blacks against the KKK chronicled in Robert Williams’s Negroes with Guns, it is clear that owning firearms was commonplace in the black community.

Nicholas Johnson points out that this story has been submerged because it is hard to reconcile with the dominant narrative of nonviolence during the civil rights era. His book, however, resolves that tension by showing how the black tradition of arms maintained and demanded a critical distinction between private self-defense and political violence.

Johnson also addresses the unavoidable issue of young black men with guns and the toll that gun violence takes on many in the inner city. He shows how complicated this issue is by highlighting the surprising diversity of views on gun ownership in the black community. In fact, recent Supreme Court affirmations of the right to bear arms resulted from cases led by black plaintiffs.

Surprising and informative, this well-researched book strips away many stock assumptions of conventional wisdom on the issue of guns and the black freedom struggle.

Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human SocietiesGuns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies

"Fascinating.... Lays a foundation for understanding human history."—Bill Gates

In this "artful, informative, and delightful" (William H. McNeill, New York Review of Books) book, Jared Diamond convincingly argues that geographical and environmental factors shaped the modern world. Societies that had had a head start in food production advanced beyond the hunter-gatherer stage, and then developed religion --as well as nasty germs and potent weapons of war --and adventured on sea and land to conquer and decimate preliterate cultures. A major advance in our understanding of human societies, Guns, Germs, and Steel chronicles the way that the modern world came to be and stunningly dismantles racially based theories of human history. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the Phi Beta Kappa Award in Science, the Rhone-Poulenc Prize, and the Commonwealth club of California's Gold Medal.

The Gun Debate: What Everyone Needs to Know®The Gun Debate: What Everyone Needs to Know®

No topic is more polarizing than guns and gun control. From a gun culture that took root early in American history to the mass shootings that repeatedly bring the public discussion of gun control to a fever pitch, the topic has preoccupied citizens, public officials, and special interest groups for decades.

The Gun Debate: What Everyone Needs to Know® delves into the issues that Americans debate when they talk about guns. With a balanced and broad-ranging approach, noted economist Philip J. Cook and political scientist Kristin A. Goss thoroughly cover the latest research, data, and developments on gun ownership, gun violence, the firearms industry, and the regulation of firearms. The authors also tackle sensitive issues such as the effectiveness of gun control, the connection between mental illness and violent crime, the question of whether more guns make us safer, and ways that video games and the media might contribute to gun violence. No discussion of guns in the U.S. would be complete without consideration of the history, culture, and politics that drive the passion behind the debate. Cook and Goss deftly explore the origins of the American gun culture and the makeup of both the gun rights and gun control movements.

Written in question-and-answer format, the book will help readers make sense of the ideologically driven statistics and slogans that characterize our national conversation on firearms. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in getting a clear view of the issues surrounding guns and gun policy in America.

Khaki Army 12 Inch Statue Marine RiflemanKhaki Army 12 Inch Statue Marine Rifleman

The Khaki Army Marine Rifleman Statue is based on Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. The Marine represents a 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade (2MEB) rifleman on patrol. Most of his clothing and equipment are Marine issue, including MCCU fatigues, issue ballistic armor vest and pouches and hydrapak. He carries the Marine issue M16A4 rifle fitted with ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gun sight) and 3-point sling. Although his equipment and weapon specifications are quite specific, the Marine traditions of soldiering carry on in this sculpture into modern times.
